On Friday, a Norwegian Air Shuttle test flight was conducted without error, and the Dreamliner that had been grounded in Sweden will take off at 5:35 p.m. local time, according to spokeswoman Asa Larsson, who spoke to The Wall Street Journal. A brake problem for the Dreamliner was traced by Boeing to a contractor and the unit has now been replaced, according to the newspaper.
Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE:KO): Current price $38.57
At the Barclays Back-to-School Conference in Boston, Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. reaffirmed its fiscal 2013 guidance. The Coca-Cola Co. unit now expects its earnings per share to be at the higher end of the previously reported range of $2.45 to $2.50. Further, the guidance includes a less than 1 percent positive impact of currency translation at the current rates. The firm continues to project that net sales on a constant currency basis will increase at a low single-digit pace.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT): Current price $73.03
Wal-Mart said it will participate in the 20th annual Goldman Sachs Global Retailing Conference on Wednesday. Company U.S. President and CEO Bill Simon will give an update on the Wal-Mart’s domestic business at 12:05 p.m. Eastern. The presentation will be webcast live via the company’s website, and a transcript will be made available later in the week.
